With the ever-changing landscape of retail in today’s increasingly web based world, we actively work with our retail partners to identify and enhance their retail environments.

Existing Retail Assets

Our approach to acquiring existing retail assets is consistent with our overall risk profile, target distressed or under performing projects for below market value, or replacement cost, where capital improvements and revenue increases can create a long term asset. Commonwealth typically invests in retail centers, or loans secured by retail centers, with less than 100,000 square feet.

New Development Retail

Our secondary focus in the retail space is the identification and development of single or multi-tenant retail projects where land can be acquired for deep discounts, and foot as well as traffic volume and ease of entry warrants a possible development.
